  • "Westerkamp creates new possibilities for listening. One can journey with her sound to inner landscapes and find unexplored openings in our sound souls. The experience of her music vibrates the potential for change.”

  • "Mere words are inadequate to describe what took place when the symphony began....Waves of sound rolled back and forth across the harbour bringing thousands of downtown office workers to their windows. DreamStream 1 is the next iteration of Ayelet Rose Gottlieb and DB Boyko's Lunar Conversations online series of music and interviews with writers and musicians. This first program falls during the month of JOY in the Hebrew calendar, all about laughter, dreams, spring, birth and motherhood.
DB Boyko and composer Hildegard Westerkamp discuss the significance of sound recordings from an archival perspective, in discussion about “Moments of Laughter” featuring the childhood recordings of Hildegard’s daughter Sonja Ruebsaat and performance vocals by DB Boyko.
Sonja Ruebesaat also joins the conversation.

Hildegard Westerkamp releases her new album on Earsay Records this month, Breaking News, a retrospective of works from 1988 to 2012. Still timely, these compositions daylight voices that are often relegated to the personal domain: sounds of new life, of unusual artistic sensibilities, of children’s and female voices. For more information of Hildegard’s new release visit: https://earsaymusic.bandcamp.com/album/breaking-news

Ayelet will also share à personal video from the studio celebrating song and motherhood.

Special thanks to DreamStream1 co-producer, Laura Silverman.
